Chemical grades are a way of classifying chemicals into different purities and standards. Organizations such as the United States Pharmocopeia and the American Chemical Society help set the standards and purities for different chemical grades.

It is important that you select the appropriate chemical grade for your application. For example, synthesis and analytical techniques require the highest purity standards. On the other hand, choosing the highest purity where it isn’t needed will incur unnecessary costs.
