About Calcium Gluconate Gel 2.5%
Calcium Gluconate, also known as Calcium D-Gluconate, Calcium D-Gluconate Anhydrous, Gluconic Acid Hemicalcium Salt, has the chemical formula C12H22CaO14. The Calcium Gluconate Gel, 2.5% w/w appears as a clear, viscous, colorless, and odorless gel. It is slowly soluble in Water but insoluble in Alcohol at ambient conditions. It is composed of Calcium Gluconate Monohydrate (2.5% w/w), Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (<2% w/w), Methyl Hydroxybenzoate (<2% w/w), Propyl Hydroxybenzoate (<1% w/w), Glycerin (<2% w/w), and Water (balance). It is an effective topical gel that is used as a first-aid treatment against hydrofluoric acid (HF) burns on the body. A USP Grade chemical is the one that conforms to the criteria of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). A substance that has received the USP Grade certification can be used in food, drug, or medical applications.
