About Ferrous Sulfate Crystal Lab Grade
Lab Alley’s Ferrous Sulfate, also known as Ferrous Sulfate Hydrate, Iron(II) Sulphate Hydrate, Green Vitriol, and Iron Vitriol, is the hydrate of Iron(2+) Sulfate having the chemical formula H2FeSO5 or FeSO4-xH2O. It appears as blue-green odorless air/moisture sensitive crystals and is water soluble at ambient conditions. When heated to decomposition, it emits toxic fumes of Sulfur Oxides. Lab grade chemicals possess reasonable purity but do not comply with any official standard for quality or purity like the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, or the FCC Grade. The Lab Grade is also known as Laboratory Reagent (LR) and Chemically Pure (CP). Lab Alley’s Ferrous Sulfate Crystal, Lab Grade is recommended for educational institutes, research labs, and commercial applications.
