About Potassium Chlorate, Analytical Reagent Grade

Potassium Chlorate, also known as Berthollet`s Salt, Chlorate of Potash, and Salt of Tarter. It is a compound containing potassium, chlorine and oxygen, with the chemical formula KClO3 or ClKO3

It appears as white odorless moisture-sensitive crystals or powder and is soluble in Water at ambient conditions. It can form a very flammable mixture with finely divided combustible materials and can undergo autoignition. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Hydrogen Chloride and K2O.
