Potassium Bromate, also known as Bromic Acid Potassium Salt, has the chemical formula KBrO3 or BrKO3. It appears as odorless, tasteless white crystals or crystalline powder and is sparingly soluble in Water at ambient conditions. In the lab, it can be produced by passing bromine into a solution of potassium hydroxide. Commercially, it is produced by using an electrolytic process. Lab Alley’s Potassium Bromate, 0.10N Solution, Lab Grade is composed of ~7 wt.% of pure Potassium Bromate in its aqueous solution. Lab grade chemicals possess reasonable purity but do not comply with any official standard for quality or purity like the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, or the FCC Grade.
