About Acetic Acid 10% Solution Lab Grade

Acetic Acid, also known as Ethanoic Acid, Ethylic Acid, Methanecarboxylic Acid, has the chemical formula C2H4O2 or CH3COOH. Acetic Acid, 10% Solution appears as a clear, colorless solution with a vinegar odor. It is freely soluble in Water at ambient conditions. Lab Alley’s Acetic Acid, 10% Solution, Lab Grade contains 10% by volume of pure Acetic Acid dissolved in 90% by volume of purified Water.

Chemically pure or Laboratory reagents are the two terms often used to describe Lab Grade chemicals. Lab Grade chemicals do not meet any accepted quality or purity requirements such as the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, and the FCC Grade, despite their acceptable purity. Due to its high purity Acetic Acid, 10% Solution, Lab Grade is highly recommended for labs and commercial applications.

    The shelf life and/or expiration date is determined based on the degradation of the chemical over time, not the packaging or packaging conditions. After the shelf life has been reached, your are welcome to re-test it to proof the concentration of the chemical and extend its shelf life.

  • hi, i'd like to know shelf life of the lab grade 10% acetic acid and what drives it (grade versus packaging, etc.). we need something minimum 5 years if possible, it will be used on ISS (international space station) and stored/packaged differently anyway.
