About Nitric Acid 15% & Hydrofluoric Acid 1.5% Mixture
Nitric Acid, also known as Aqua Fortis, Engraver’s Acid, Azotic Acid, and Hydrogen Nitrate has the chemical formula HNO3. It appears as a transparent, pale yellow to red-brown liquid, releasing reddish- brown fumes, with a characteristic choking odor. Hydrofluoric Acid, also known as Hydrogen Fluoride, Fluoric Acid, Fluorine Hydride, and Fluorhydric Acid appears as a clear, colorless to yellow liquid. Lab Alley’s Nitric Acid 15%, Hydrofluoric Acid 1.5%, Mixture contains 15 wt% Nitric Acid and 1.5 wt% Hydrofluoric Acid mixed in a balanced quantity of Deionized Water to form an aqueous solution. It appears as a clear liquid with an acidic odor and is used to prepare the surfaces of implantable medical devices.
